HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHERS
A vacancy exists for high school summer school teachers for the High School Summer School Programs, which will be held at all Berkeley County High Schools. Teachers are are needed in ESL with the following expectations:

Applicants will provide English language acquisition instruction utilizing the English Language Proficiency Standards to secondary students. The academic program will be designed to assist a student in acquiring and strengthening key language skills utilizing differentiated instruction. Teacher will have collaborative and co-teaching opportunities as applicable.

An EL teacher is needed to provide language support and intervention at all Berkeley High Schools to support students seeking credit.  The number of positions and availability is contingent based on student enrollment in the program.

Specialized Skills
West Virginia teacher certification in ESL appropriate for teaching high school grades, 6-12. Applicants should have knowledge of (1) English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards, (2) Co-teaching model, (3) Collaborative planning, (4) Differentiated instruction

Additional Job Information
Teachers will be employed based upon appropriate WV certification and summer school seniority. Teachers must be available to teach the entire session. Requests for vacation will not be approved and summer school absences are included when determining the sick leave incentive. Positions are contingent upon student enrollment.

A. Teachers will be required to submit weekly lesson plans.

D. Teachers will be required to be available for 6 weeks of summer school.
