Job Type Description
The successful applicants will teach first grade and perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilties include creating a flexible first grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each student's ability; and to establish good relationships with parents/guardians and with other staff members.
Salary Schedule
Berkeley County Schools Teacher Pay Scale based upon degree level and verified years of experience. 200-day employment term.
Qualifications Requirements
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to be a qualified and effective candidate for the vacancy.
A bachelor's degree in elementary education, holds or can obtain WV teacher certification in elementary education, effective classroom management skills, and the ability to participate in extracurricular activities or after hours for work-related activities.

If a certified candidate is unavailable for this position, then an applicant who is eligible for a first-class permit, alternative certification, Teacher-in-Residence, or a perm sub can be considered.
